A fascinating story of pre-war Isles of Scilly written by a local, Jeremy Reseigh Watts, whose mother Ena Reseigh was the wife of the skipper of RMS Scillonian. She was a well-liked and much respected figure in the Isles of Scilly and known as the ‘Duchess of Auriga’. A unique history and fascinating account of the Scilly Isles from the early to late 20th century.
Jeremy Reseigh Watts was born in the Isles of Scilly in 1957. After secondary schooling, he trained to become a French teacher. He taught English in Toulouse at the Lycee Pierre de Fermat before returning to England and securing various teaching posts. He took a summer job at Heathrow Airport with BAA which led to a career in aviation. In 1990 he became Terminal Duty Officer in Terminal 3 which he occupies to this day.
